About this work
The sheet is divided into a loose grid of individual hand studies: fingers curled into a fist, hands reaching toward one another, palms pressed together as if in prayer, fingers laced and pulling, a single hand cupped at the center, and pairs of hands gripping or resting against each other. The lettered phrase "fingers are the tips of your thoughts" runs across the bottom beneath the studies.
Each hand is built from tight, directional hatching that models knuckles, tendons, and creases with careful draughtsmanship, the black ink shifting from light contour lines to dense shadow between fingers. The repetition of gestures across the sheet reads like a study exercise turned into a quiet meditation on touch and thought.
